What Is Laser Eye Surgery?

Laser eye surgery can correct refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism using modern laser technology to reshape the cornea. Techniques like LASIK and PRK offer a modern approach to achieving clear vision and helping reduce the need for glasses and contact lenses.

Our optometrists can guide you through your options and help guide you along your vision correction journey.

What to Expect During Your Consultation

The consultation process is an important step in determining the suitability of laser eye surgery for your unique needs. During your consultation, we’ll take the time to assess your eye health and vision and provide personalized guidance for how to move forward with laser vision correction based on your unique eyes.

We will engage in a thorough discussion with you and ask about specific your vision concerns, lifestyle, and overall expectations for laser eye surgery. This conversation helps us understand your goals and tailor our recommendations accordingly.

A series of tests and measurements may be conducted to assess various factors related to your eye health, such as corneal thickness, pupil size, and your current prescription. These tests are essential for determining the suitable laser eye surgery options for your needs.

Based on the results of your testing, we can provide you with a personalized recommendation for laser vision correction. This includes whether you are a suitable candidate for laser eye surgery and, if so, which specific procedures may be most beneficial for your individual needs.

Making an informed decision about laser eye surgery involves addressing any questions or concerns you may have. Our experienced team is dedicated to helping you fully understand the procedure, potential outcomes, and any associated risks or complications.

Post-Operative Care

Choosing laser eye surgery is not just about the procedure itself but also committing to comprehensive care throughout the recovery process through laser eye surgery co-management. After your surgery, we can provide support to help you maintain your eye health.

We may recommend a series of post-operative examinations to closely monitor your recovery progress. These appointments are important for confirming that your eyes are healing as expected and addressing any concerns you may have.

Our commitment to your well-being extends beyond immediate surgery recovery. We remain available to provide ongoing support and address any questions or queries you may have as you adjust to your new vision.
