Contact Lens Exams for the Perfect Fit

Every eye is different, so there should not be a one-size-fits-all approach to contact lenses. Improperly fitted contact lenses can cause discomfort, and even damage your corneas. To ensure your contact lenses are properly fitted, and your vision is clear, you should undergo a comprehensive eye exam and a contact lens exam. If you are new to contact lenses or would like to try them again, you should have a contact lens fitting.

Are you considering contact lenses? Maybe you want to ensure that your current lenses are the up-to-date?

How We Find The Right Contact Lenses for You

The Exam

Once we have reviewed your medical history and addressed any questions or concerns you may have, we will assess your eyes and determine if you have any conditions that may prevent you from wearing contact lenses. Once we have confirmed that contact lenses are a suitable choice for you, we will verify your contact lens prescription and begin the contact lens fitting.

Please be aware that your contact lens prescription is different from your eyeglasses prescription.

During the contact lens fitting, we will begin by measuring your eyes. Accurate measurements are critical because they ensure the contact lenses we prescribe to you are a good fit, based on the size and shape of your corneas.

Contact lenses come in a wide range of diameters and curvatures, not all of which are suitable for all eyes. We will determine which fit and style are best suited to provide you with clear vision, while keeping your eyes healthy and comfortable.

Once we know what style of contact lens is right for you, we will send you home with a trial pair in your prescription. You can try out your new contact lenses over the next few days and make sure that they are comfortable and provide you with clear vision.

We will meet with you again in a week or so, and if you are happy with your trial pair and your eyes are adapting appropriately, we will order a supply of contact lenses for you. If your trial pair is not quite right, we will work with you by trying different brands, styles, and powers until we find the right contact lens match for your eyes.
